Job Responsibilities:

The district is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Boys 8th Grade Basketball Coach to lead and mentor student athletes. The assistant coach will be responsible for fostering a positive team culture, promoting skill development, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all players.

Stipend: $2,126 (2026-27 school year)

Qualifications for this position:

  • Must have or be able to obtain an Iowa Coaching license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementing effective practice plans that enhance skill development and teamwork.

  • Attend all practices and games.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to student athletes, supporting their academic and personal growth.

  • Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and leadership on and off the field/court.

  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all team members.

  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and families to support student success.

  • Follow all district, state, and league regulations and policies.

  • Coordinate game schedules, travel arrangements, and equipment needs.

Eligibility: Applicants must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
