About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use):

The Team
The Private Markets Technology team builds and operates the platforms that support critical workflows across Private Equity and Private Credit.
We are looking for a hands-on technology leader to own the engineering, architecture, delivery, and operational performance of our Private Markets technology platforms, while driving their transformation into modern, AI-native products.
This is a practitioner leadership role, not a traditional technology management or architecture position. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable writing code and prototyping solutions, working directly with engineering teams, shaping technology strategy, and driving complex organizational delivery.
The role requires strong Private Markets domain knowledge, deep engineering expertise, and the ability to challenge existing technology, data models, and operating practices to deliver meaningful transformation.
Responsibilities and Impact
-
Own technology and delivery: Lead engineering execution, architecture, platform modernization, operational resilience, and production outcomes across the Private Markets technology portfolio, with end-to-end accountability for technology performance and delivery.
-
Build alongside engineering teams: Actively participate in solution design, coding, rapid prototyping, AI-assisted development, and complex technical problem-solving. Lead through direct technical engagement, not simply delegation.
-
Drive AI-native transformation: Accelerate the adoption of AI-native engineering approaches, intelligent workflows, agentic solutions, automation, and modern development practices to transform existing products and create new capabilities.
-
Modernize platforms, data, and integration: Analyze existing applications, databases, data models, and integration patterns to simplify legacy architectures and develop scalable data products, interoperable services, APIs, and intelligence capabilities across the Private Markets ecosystem.
-
Translate Private Markets expertise into technology: Turn Private Equity and Private Credit workflows, including portfolio monitoring, valuations, performance analytics, investment operations, and covenant analysis, into practical, scalable technology solutions.
-
Create a culture of engineering excellence and accountability: Work across product, business, data, and engineering teams to challenge established approaches, accelerate outcomes, and build a culture of hands-on ownership, experimentation, rapid delivery, technical excellence, and accountability while ensuring platforms remain secure, scalable, resilient, and operationally sound.
What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications
-
Proven technology leadership experience over a 15+ year career delivering complex enterprise platforms, with accountability across engineering, architecture, technology delivery, platform modernization, and production outcomes, preferably within financial services, investment management, or Private Markets.
-
Strong understanding of Private Equity and Private Credit, including investment lifecycles, portfolio data, valuation processes, financial reporting, performance analytics, and investment operations.
-
Deep hands-on software engineering experience, with the ability and willingness to design, write code, prototype solutions, and troubleshoot complex technical problems alongside engineering teams.
-
Deep expertise in modern application architectures, cloud-native development, APIs, integration, distributed systems, and data platforms, with experience inmodernizing complex or legacy technology environments.
-
Practical experience analyzing applications, databases, and data models; engineering data pipelines and data products; and enabling interoperability across platforms, services, and systems.
-
Strong understanding and practical application of AI, LLMs, agentic architectures, automation, and AI-assisted software development, including their use in building or transforming technology products and engineering practices.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering organizations and significant technology transformation, influence senior stakeholders, challenge established approaches, and drive measurable outcomes across organizational boundaries while remaining personally engaged in execution.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience applying technology to complex Private Markets workflows, including portfolio monitoring, valuations, covenant analysis, investment operations, and performance analytics.
-
Experience operating in large-scale, global, or highly regulated technology environments where security, resilience, scalability, and operational performance are critical.
-
Track record of building engineering cultures centered on technical excellence, experimentation, rapid delivery, ownership, and accountability.
Leadership Expectations
We want a leader who builds, not just directs.
Someone who can open an IDE, write code, develop an agent, solve an architectural problem, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, while owning the broader technology organization, delivery, and production outcomes.
The successful candidate will combine the accountability of a CIO, the technical depth of a senior engineering leader, and the entrepreneurial mindset required to fundamentally transform how Private Markets technology is built and delivered.
