Summary
THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN JFHQ IN J2 3 7, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D2479000. If you would like the complete list of duties, please contact the POC of this announcement.
Duties
- Receives, reviews, and submits requests for personnel clearances for serviced civilian, contractor, and military personnel.
- Uses computer software such as analysis tools to research and facilitate work.
- Performs duties related to assisting suitability adjudications/determinations for the fitness and suitability of civilian employees, contractors and/or applicants for initial and continuing employment retention.
- Executes established policies and procedures required for the personnel security program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MILITARY GRADES: E4 through E7, or WO1 through CW3, or O1 through O2 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 35 Series, 01A, 011A, 00F SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Ability to research, organize, analyze, and synthesize information from a variety of automated systems across multiple DOD, Federal, and state agencies. Knowledge of investigation and re-investigation processes to initiate and conduct follow-up in the approved automated system(s). Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career. Skill in oral and written communication sufficient to write reports, conduct presentations, and/or clearly communicate personnel security processes, regulations, or training. Must have at least 12 months of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07). Must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY AS THE FOLLOWING HAS CHANGED Indiana National Guard (INNG) Federal Technicians will wait 36 months after being selected for a new position before applying for another position within the INNG. Education
To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-09. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the line of work. For the GS-09 level: To qualify on education alone applicant must have one of the following: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 including qualifying with combination of education and experience.
