Job Description

Overview: Seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support advanced social & marketing measurement initiatives. This person will own complex data science projects end-to-end, including work tied to an Organic Perception Validation Model that combines social comment data, controlled experimental data, statistical calibration, bias correction, and observational data to better quantify audience and brand perception.

This individual will own their own projects while collaborating with other Data Scientists as a senior thought partner. Must have exceptional executive function and communication skills, with the ability to take ambiguous problems, independently structure an approach, drive execution, and clearly communicate complex methodologies and findings.

Day-to-Day:

Own advanced data science and social/marketing measurement projects from problem definition through final recommendation. Design and implement custom NLP classifiers to detect nuanced sentiment, including brand excitement and preference, within social media comment streams. Develop statistical calibration models that bridge controlled creative testing/experimental data with large-scale observational social data. Formulate weighting schemas and bias-correction algorithms to account for selection/participation bias in user-generated content. Build statistical/probabilistic models that project observational social signals to broader audience and brand perception. Design experiments, test hypotheses, validate models, and develop scalable measurement methodologies. Work hands-on with large datasets using Python, SQL, and cloud data environments. Translate complex analytical approaches, limitations, and findings into clear business recommendations. Independently manage priorities, dependencies, blockers, and multiple workstreams while proactively communicating progress.

Skills and Requirements

7+ years of Data Science / Applied Data Science experience. Advanced Python + SQL. Social & marketing measurement experience is mandatory, including experience developing/applying methodologies around marketing performance, audience response, brand impact, and/or campaign effectiveness. Strong statistical modeling, applied ML, and probabilistic modeling experience. Strong hands-on NLP, text classification, and LLM experience with unstructured text data at scale. Experience developing custom classifiers for nuanced sentiment, perception, preference, or behavioral signals. Experience with bias correction, survey/participation weighting, statistical calibration, propensity score weighting, inverse probability weighting, and/or comparable methodologies. Experience combining experimental/controlled data with observational data. Strong experimental design, hypothesis testing, statistical inference, and model validation experience. Experience with large-scale/cloud data environments. GCP/BigQuery strongly preferred. Experience developing first-party social listening capabilities and API integrations for custom comment extraction/analysis. Experience partnering with UX Research, Market Research, or Lab Testing teams to design calibration experiments. Experience working with large-scale social media/comment datasets. Experience with causal inference, MMM, attribution, or advanced marketing experimentation. Experience presenting complex analytical findings to senior/executive stakeholders.
