Description
We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee building operations and workplace services for a 3-month contract position based in Santa Clara, California. This role will guide facility planning, maintenance execution, vendor coordination, and site services while helping ensure a safe, efficient, and well-supported environment for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, financial oversight, and operational judgment across complex facilities.
Responsibilities:

Create and manage a comprehensive facilities program that supports preventive maintenance, asset life-cycle planning, and ongoing site reliability.

Perform routine building assessments, maintain accurate inspection records, and identify priorities for corrective action or long-term improvements.

Direct day-to-day maintenance and repair activity for building systems, equipment, and shared workplace infrastructure.

Coordinate renovation, refresh, and refurbishment projects while aligning schedules, contractors, and operational needs.

Lead facility personnel and external service partners, setting expectations, monitoring performance, and supporting team development.

Oversee the effective use of space and workplace resources to improve functionality, service delivery, and occupant experience.

Develop, monitor, and analyze facility budgets, track spending trends, and investigate variances to support cost control.

Manage site support services such as front desk operations, security, cleaning, catering, waste handling, and parking administration.

Enforce environmental health and safety standards by administering safety programs, inspections, and related training activities.

Source vendors, evaluate proposals, negotiate service terms, and administer contracts while also responding to access control issues, alarms, and other facility incidents.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.

10+ years of experience in facilities management, operations, or building services, including leadership responsibility.

Strong understanding of building systems, engineering fundamentals, maintenance operations, and construction coordination.

Experience with budgeting, expenditure tracking, cost analysis, and financial oversight within a facilities environment.

Proficiency with facility management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to manage vendors, review tenders or quotations, and maintain effective service agreements.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to address occupant and stakeholder needs.
