Staff Accountant

Description

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their corporate accounting team in Short Hills, NJ. The Staff Accountant will participate in the monthly book close process, prepare financial reportings, analyze GL accounts, and prepare reconciliations.The ideal Staff Accountant will have at minimum of 1-2 years' experience in either the insurance, financial services, or large regional to Big 4 public accounting in an accounting or assurance role, hands on experience with monthly close activities, and strong Excel and systems skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• 1–3 years of experience in financial accounting.

• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Familiarity with GAAP and accounting compliance requirements.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience using accounting systems

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute effectively to project-based work.
