Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Superintendent for a growing commercial construction client specializing in industrial and commercial "Big Box" construction projects. This individual will oversee daily onsite construction activities on projects typically valued around $10 million, with a primary focus on quality, safety, and scheduling coordination. The Superintendent will work directly with an internal Project Manager while reporting to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for leading fully subcontracted project teams from project startup through completion. This person must be comfortable driving accountability among subcontractors while maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial construction practices, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The client is open to experienced Superintendents, Project Managers interested in transitioning into a field-focused role, and ambitious construction professionals seeking a long-term growth opportunity. This opportunity offers significantly less bureaucracy and administrative red tape than larger commercial contractors, allowing employees to focus on building successful projects rather than excessive documentation and corporate processes.

Day to Day:

• Oversee quality control across commercial and industrial construction projects
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety requirements
• Manage day-to-day field operations on projects typically valued around $10M
• Coordinate and oversee fully subcontracted project teams
• Work closely with the internal Project Manager to ensure successful project execution
• Report directly to the Director of Operations regarding project progress, schedules, challenges, and milestones
• Manage project schedules, labor coordination, inspections, and subcontractor activities
• Lead jobsite meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders
• Ensure projects remain on schedule while maintaining quality and safety standards
• Resolve field issues and proactively address project risks
• Maintain organized and professional jobsites throughout the project lifecycle

Skills and Requirements

• OSHA 30 Certification (Required)
• 5-10 years of Superintendent experience preferred OR Project Management experience with willingness to transition into a field-based Superintendent role
• Experience in commercial and/or industrial construction
• Experience managing projects valued around $10M- Extensive knowledge of commercial construction materials, procedures, and industry best practices
• Experience coordinating and managing fully subcontracted construction teams
• Strong scheduling and project coordination experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently
• Strong commitment to jobsite quality, safety, organization, and customer satisfaction
• Demonstrated ethical decision-making and ability to treat both team members and the company fairly
• Degree in Construction Management or related field
• Experience with industrial/commercial "Big Box" construction projects
• Experience overseeing warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or similar industrial facilities
• OSHA 10 Certification
• Experience working closely with Directors of Operations and Project Managers
