Full job description

Customer Success Manager – California Senior Programmer

Remote (California) | Full-time | Up to 50% travel

Help shape how California's cannabis industry runs on technology.

Vangst is partnering with a fast-growing cannabis regulatory technology company that's expanding nationally and globally. Their platform helps state agencies and licensed businesses track cannabis from cultivation all the way to sale, keeping one of the country's most complex regulated industries transparent, compliant and moving forward.

They're looking for a technically minded Customer Success Manager to be the go-to partner for California's agencies, local jurisdictions and cannabis operators. If you like turning data into insights, building strong client relationships and working where tech, policy and a growing industry meet, this role is for you.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the trusted partner for California agencies, local jurisdictions and industry stakeholders, leading outreach, onboarding, training and long-term account management.
  • Turn data into action by building reports, extracts and visualizations that surface trends, flag risks early and show clients the value they're getting.
  • Work with developers, product owners and the data team to translate client needs into requirements and resolve defects.
  • Be the voice of the customer, bringing feedback and ideas to Product, Support and leadership to help shape the roadmap.
  • Lead QBRs, webinars, trainings and onsite visits, and represent the company as a subject matter expert at industry events.
  • Coordinate across Product, Legal, Finance, Government Affairs and other teams on escalations, renewals, contract extensions and procurements.

What you bring

  • 2+ years delivering software customizations or configuration updates, or building database extracts and reports.
  • 18+ months working in an agile development or configuration environment.
  • 12+ months managing technical and business requirements for a SaaS product.
  • A knack for translating business needs into clear, data-driven insights.
  • Experience delivering mission-critical services to customers.
  • Bonus: experience on government projects or in the regulated cannabis industry.
  • Must live in California.

Why you'll love it

  • Remote role with real impact on how a major state market operates.
  • A fast-growing company with room to grow your career.
  • Variety: data work, relationship building, travel and industry events.
  • A chance to help build a safer, more transparent cannabis industry.
