This position is located in Casper, WY. Relocation assistance not provided. This position will start as temporary with the intent of becoming full-time.
As an Industrial Technician, you will support operation and maintenance of environmental remediation systems at Chevron's former Texaco Refinery in Casper, Wyoming. Responsibilities include operation and maintenance of groundwater extraction and treatment systems, industrial equipment, pumps, controls, instrumentation, environmental monitoring activities, and site infrastructure. The successful candidate will work independently while coordinating with Jacobs engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and Chevron stakeholders to ensure safe and compliant site operations.
RESPONSIBIITIES:

Schedules work tasks for the Wyoming Locations

Performs routine inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, piping systems, valves, treatment equipment, and associated infrastructure

Performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant including maintenance of equipment, quality control/testing and day-to-day activities on an assigned shift.

Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent.

Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels.

Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings.

Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control.

Starts and stops pump, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes.

Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses.

Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties.

Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel.

Understands and carries out oral and written directions.

Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.

Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture and compliance with Chevron and Jacobs health, safety, and environmental requirements.

High school diploma or GED.
-
A valid driver’s license with no major infractions
-
Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems, and be able to operate plant PLC's and SCADA systems.

Past work experience that demonstrates mechanical aptitude, such as the capacity to apply simple mechanical and physical principles as well as the ability to figure out how objects work and move, alone and in relation to other objects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Basic familiarity of the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations.

Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and operating automated industrial control systems, PLCs, telemetry, and SCADA systems preferred.

Experience operating or maintaining groundwater extraction, remediation, treatment, or environmental monitoring systems preferred.

Supervisory skills and abilities demonstrated through experience leading people and scheduling work assignments.

One year of experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants.

Basic familiarity of the operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors; principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical sewage analyses; effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes; safe work practices.
This position requires the operation of a company vehicle. A company vehicle therefore may be assigned specific to this project/client and, if assigned, may only be used for work purposes. The candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, and must undergo a motor vehicle records check and meet company motor vehicle record adjudication standards.
