Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT)

BSW Rehab is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support a professional USL soccer team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As part of our outreach athletic training program through a leading outpatient physical therapy organization, this position offers the opportunity to work directly with elite athletes in a dynamic professional sports environment.

The ideal candidate is flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and willing to travel out of state. This role requires coverage of practices, competitions, team travel, and occasional weekend and holiday events.The Assistant Athletic Trainer works collaboratively with the Head Athletic Trainer and multidisciplinary medical team to support player health, injury prevention, emergency care, rehabilitation, and return-to-play progression for professional soccer athletes.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Medical Care • Evaluate, treat, and manage acute and chronic athletic injuries.• Provide emergency on-field medical care during training sessions and matches.• Assist with injury prevention initiatives and athlete wellness programs.

  2. Rehabilitation & Performance • Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and return-to-play programs.• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, strength and conditioning staff, and other healthcare professionals to optimize athlete outcomes.

  3. Training, Competition & Travel Coverage • Attend all first-team training sessions, home matches, and designated away matches.• Travel with the team as required.• Provide sideline and event coverage during practices and competitions.

  4. Administration & Compliance • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical record systems.• Manage medical supplies and treatment inventory.• Ensure compliance with league, organizational, and state regulatory requirements.

  5. Communication & Collaboration • Communicate athlete status and availability with coaching, technical, and medical staff.• Participate as a member of the integrated sports medicine team to support player health and performance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Board of Certification (BOC) and Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in good standing.

  • Eligible for or currently licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Texas.

  • American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working in elite, collegiate, or professional athletics.

  • Experience with soccer and/or high-performance sports environments.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and return-to-play protocols.
