Network Security Engineer

Job Description

A federal client is seeking a Network Engineer / Network Services Engineer to support and maintain critical enterprise network infrastructure in a secure, mission-driven environment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of network services while supporting modernization efforts, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing scalable networking solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design, implement, configure, and support enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud-connected environments. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network services. Perform network maintenance, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities. Manage core network services including DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and remote access solutions. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support projects, incident response, and network improvements.

Pay rate range: 50-60/hr

Skills and Requirements

-Experience supporting cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). -CCNA, CCNP, Security+, or other relevant networking certifications. -5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, Network Services Engineer, or similar role supporting enterprise environments. -Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routing and switching. -Experience supporting network services such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls. -Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and overall network troubleshooting. -Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
