Maintenance Assistant (OPS Part Time)

Job Functions - This position is maintenance work including assisting with painting, plumbing, and minor repairs. - Work will also include moving furniture, cleaning, and all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Superintendent. Minimum Qualifications - This position requires an ability to quickly learn methods of repair. - Must possess good communication skills, be flexible with a variety of assignments and must be able to exercise good judgment. - Experience working within a customer service-oriented environment is mandatory. - The employee must be able to maintain a professional attitude, promote departmental and university policies and represent the University of North Florida, the Department of Housing and Residence Life to residents and guests in a positive and supportive manner. - The applicant will use diplomacy while working with individuals of various backgrounds and ages. - Cannot be a current UNF student for this position type. Required Qualifications - Experience using hand tools and handheld power tools preferred. - Willingness to learn new skills. Statement(s) of Understanding This position requires a background check.
