Remote Senior Manual QA Mobile Tester

Job Description

This Senior Manual QA tester will be working at a global hotel company, testing native mobile applications on the platform data content team. This mobile tester will be working on an agile team writing test cases, testing stores beyond just scoping criteria.

Responsibilities include: Partner with developers, product managers, and designers on an Agile mobile development team Write, maintain, and execute detailed test cases for new features, enhancements, and production fixes Perform end-to-end manual testing of native iOS and Android applications Conduct functional, regression, exploratory, and release testing during sprint and regression cycles Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and validate fixes before deployment Use API testing and network monitoring tools to verify backend integrations and data flow Analyze application logs and network traffic to troubleshoot defects and improve test coverage Validate user experience across various devices, operating systems, simulators, and emulators Collaborate with senior developers to identify testing risks, improve quality processes, and strengthen release readiness Document defects, test results, and quality metrics in Jira and related testing tools

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in manual software testing, with a strong focus on mobile applications Hands-on experience testing native iOS and Android applications Experience working with mobile emulators and simulators Strong understanding of the mobile development lifecycle and Agile methodologies Experience creating and executing test cases, regression testing, and production issue validation Ability to analyze API requests and responses using tools such as Postman, Insomnia, Charles Proxy, or Proxyman Experience using developer tools and logs for troubleshooting, including: Xcode Console ADB Logs Network traffic inspection tools Experience with Jira and test management tools such as Zephyr and BrowserStack Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner directly with developers and product teams Self-starter who can work independently while contributing effectively within an Agile team Previous experience serving as a QA Lead or senior member of a mobile development team Experience testing application behavior in varying network conditions (airplane mode, connectivity disruptions, etc.) Experience validating platform, content, data, or security-related functionality within mobile applications Ability to help define test strategy and provide quality recommendations alongside senior developers
