Consultant, Demand Planning

What gives Dell Technologies our competitive advantage? It’s our ability to achieve cost savings as we operate at the cutting edge of technology. Working in an environment that’s as complex as it is critical, our Materials and Procurement team manages a group of indirect categories, such as real estate, marketing material, supplies or software. We use our in-depth knowledge and experience to develop strategic relationships with external suppliers as well as with key stakeholders. Our role also includes leading contract negotiations, managing risk, driving cost-saving initiatives, and implementing strategic sourcing best practices.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Consultant on our Demand Planning team in Austin, Texas.

What you’ll achieve:

As a Consultant in Demand Planning, you will balance customer demand, supply availability and operational constraints to drive profitability and customer satisfaction, using advanced statistical models to keep Dell Technologies' forecasts sharp and its commitments reliable.

You will:

  • Drive business strategy and sales objectives by developing accurate demand forecasts using demand, supply, capacity, market, commodity, product, and platform insights

  • Leverage data analytics, market intelligence, and forecast performance metrics to assess risk, refine assumptions, and improve forecast accuracy

  • Apply advanced statistical modeling techniques to generate demand forecasts aligned with actual customer demand patterns

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align business assumptions, shape demand plans, and mitigate supply chain constraints during periods of imbalance

  • Translate customer requirements, financial objectives, and product transition strategies into actionable demand plans and forecast commitments

Take the first step towards your dream career

Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here's what we are looking for with this role:

Essential Requirements:

  • 12+ years of related professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience

  • Strong business-analysis and commercial-acumen skills, connecting forecast assumptions to revenue, margin, and inventory targets reviewed in monthly S&OP cycles

  • Advanced supply-chain-optimization skills, balancing demand signals against component allocation and manufacturing capacity across a global factory network

  • Strong stakeholder-engagement skills for aligning sales, finance, and operations partners around forecast assumptions for product transitions and end-of-life plans

Desirable Requirements:

  • 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
