Full job description

Description

This role provides senior-level power engineering support to the FAA Power Services Group under the NISC program. The successful candidate will lead complex technical initiatives, guide projects through all lifecycle phases, and contribute to strategic planning for national airspace power infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day operations of a multidisciplinary implementation team. Provide expert engineering consultation to ensure designs meet all relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices across requirements development, site assessments, design, review, and implementation.

  • Support project planning and execution, including coordination of logistics, schedules, and technical strategies.

  • Develop innovative solutions to complex power engineering challenges using analytical, simulation, and system‑level methods.

  • Collaborate effectively with diverse engineering teams and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field and 8 to 12 years of experience in power systems engineering.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex power engineering problems.

  • Strong background in power systems; candidates from other electrical engineering disciplines must show deep power knowledge.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with short circuit coordination, arc flash analysis, grounding, lightning protection, generator and UPS systems, and power quality/stability assessment.

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA, and NEC.

  • Knowledge of FAA or DoD systems, technical policies, standards, and orders.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
