Job Description
AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Boston on October 21-22, 2026 . This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.
The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.
On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Boston office . This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.
AECOM is seeking an Inspection Intern to be based in Rocky Hill, CT.
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Assist in conducting on-site inspections of construction projects, focusing on roadway and transportation infrastructure.

Learn and apply standard inspection techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out assigned tasks.

Observe and document construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Collect and organize field data, including measurements, photographs, and material samples.
-
Participate in the preparation of daily inspection reports and maintain accurate records of project progress.

Shadow experienced inspectors and engineers to gain practical knowledge of construction processes and inspection methodologies.

Attend project meetings and site visits to enhance understanding of project management and stakeholder communication.

Assist in reviewing construction drawings and specifications to familiarize with project requirements.

Learn to use various inspection tools and equipment under supervision.

Contribute to the development of punch lists and assist in final inspections.

Participate in safety training and adhere to all safety protocols on construction sites.
-
Engage in continuous learning opportunities to expand knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.

Collaborate with team members on small projects or specific aspects of larger projects to develop teamwork skills.
-
Perform a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
- Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or a related discipline, and must have completed two years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous internship experience is a plus.

Previous experience and/or an interest in roadway/transportation-related construction and/or inspection.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $20 to $28.
