Full job description

Job Description Administering cancer treatments. Explaining the treatments and answering questions for patients. Managing the side effects of cancer treatments and helping manage pain. Monitoring vitals of patients. RN Med Surg Oncology In this role you will be required to make clinical assessments of situations and manage treatment autonomously. You would be part of a phenomenal team that works hard to support each other while providing excellent care to our patients in a collaborative manner.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:

  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation

  • Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team

  • Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues

  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation

  • Act as an advocate for patient safety.

  • Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment.

  • Educate patients regarding their medications, procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of Recent RN experience. (Does not need to have acute care experience. IT IS STRONGLY PREFERRED HOWEVER, THEY WOULD BE OPEN FOR LTAC EXPERIENCE) (RECENT RN EXPERIENCE IS STRONGLY PREFERRED)

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required

  • Current BLS required

  • Current ACLS preferred, required within 6 months of hire

  • BSN is preferred
