Billing Analyst

Description We are looking for a Billing Analyst to join a finance team in California on a contract basis with the potential for a long-term opportunity. This position supports invoicing accuracy, receivables follow-up, and timely resolution of billing questions in a fast-moving, technology-focused environment. The role is well suited to someone who can coordinate effectively across internal teams and customer contacts while helping strengthen day-to-day financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review customer invoices to ensure charges are accurate, complete, and issued on schedule.

• Monitor outstanding accounts, follow up on past-due balances, and help drive timely payment collection.

• Respond to billing and account inquiries from customers and internal business partners with clear and effective communication.

• Reconcile account activity by researching discrepancies, validating supporting data, and resolving exceptions promptly.

• Partner with finance, customer service, and operational teams to improve billing workflows and reduce recurring issues.

• Maintain organized records of invoicing, collections activity, and account status updates for reporting and audit support.

• Assist with process improvement efforts, including automation initiatives and enhancements to finance systems such as NetSuite.

• Support export-related customer service coordination when billing questions involve international transactions or documentation needs. Requirements • Experience handling billing operations and accounts receivable activities in a high-volume business environment.

• Working knowledge of collections practices and the ability to manage follow-up on outstanding customer balances.

• Proficiency with NetSuite or comparable enterprise financial systems.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate records.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with customers and cross-functional internal teams.

• Ability to stay organized, prioritize multiple requests, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

• Familiarity with export customer service processes is preferred when supporting international billing matters.
