What you’ll do:
Job summary
Manage assigned distributor channel accounts in Puerto Rico to increase sales and bookings year over year. Establish relationship with other key customers (end users, contractors, consultants) and provide technical assistance to find solutions that will translate into orders. Provide proposals for electrical distribution projects using Eaton's Bidmanager quotation tool.
Job responsibilities
Provide pricing and formal quotes to distributor for equipments/small projects as indicated in the drawings or specification (from breakers to panelboards, switchgears, substations and more).
When necessary, use Bidmanager to quote equipment to support the Quotations Team.
Understand electrical drawings and specifications to quote equipment assembled at Canovanas using required spreadsheets and BidManager.
Work together with Engineering in case of any design configuration, special equipment or pricing addition confirmation.
Work and coordinate with EESS if pricing is needed for services before finalizing proposal.
Soon to close projects, revise the final pricing (multiplier) and negotiate with customer.
Be responsible and accountable for the orders.
If revisions are made, submit revised pricing, design and specs to distributor and ensure to get customer approval.
As a team member, verify with peers if everyone is using same pricing and configuration if we all have the same bid quote.
Verify the price of stock orders received, if good, then send to the Customer Service Team for entry.
Manage all existing orders in terms of follow up with supply chain (reconcile and order the item), engineering (drawings for approval) and sometimes warehouse to ensure a ship release is sent for urgent equipments.
Visit target accounts monthly to ensure pricing and needs are met with existing projects or any proposal.
With the target accounts, maintain good communication with the quotation group and project managers.
Visit distributors on a weekly basis.
Together with the distributor visit end customers to help bring confidence in the Eaton/distributor relationship.
Work together with Marketing and make a plan for the upcoming year in terms of activities to promote Eaton either in a counter setting or a webinar/lunch and learn to major contractors/designers.
Provide feedback to Marketing on how our competitors are doing and how Eaton is doing in the market in terms of delivery time and pricing.
Work with other plants in the US and Latam for pricing, specifications, drawings and any request.
Regarding Small project orders, review order (make sure equipment can be manufactured in Canovanas per the specifications), submit RFQ to all the plants in BidMan, once approved, submit order in BidManager, send email with PO to EatonCare.
Maintain pipeline of projects in Salesforce and update opportunitites on a weekly basis.
Work with the credit department to ensure orders are released.
If order cannot be released, work with credit to follow up with the distributor and obtain more information on payments needed.
Participate in sales events such as counter days with distributor, dinner events/meetings with customers.
Participate in the internal sales/plant meetings, required trainings.
Stay on track for lead times and delivery dates on projects and stock items (the ones in urgent need).
Qualifications:
Education level required
Bachelor Degree in Electric Engineer prefered
Years and area of experience required
5 years technical sales experience
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Technical knowledge
Experience working with electrical drawings and project specifications.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code basics.
