What you'll do...

Role summary:

The Manager, Finance plays a critical role in driving financial planning and analysis to support strategic business decisions. This position involves preparing detailed financial models, analyzing performance variances, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate forecasting and risk mitigation. The role requires effective communication of financial insights to senior leadership and active participation in budgeting and business case development. Additionally, the Manager leads and develops associates, promotes compliance with company policies, and fosters continuous improvement to enhance financial transparency and operational excellence across the organization.

About the team:

The Marketplace Finance team is essential in driving financial planning, analysis, and risk management to support business goals. This team collaborates across departments to develop financial models, maintain effective controls, and improve reporting clarity. Members lead projects, communicate insights to senior leadership, and contribute to strategic decisions. The team promotes continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development, emphasizing clear communication and strong partnerships. Upholding high standards of integrity and financial management, the team delivers value and supports Walmart’s mission through diligent financial oversight and collaborative efforts.

What you'll do:

  • Provide strategic input to financial planning by preparing analyses and models to recommend expense targets and assess business performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand variances, document findings, and present results to senior management.

  • Manage control structures to mitigate financial risks and enhance reporting transparency across financial systems.

  • Develop financial models incorporating assumptions and risks to support business decisions and executive presentations.

  • Partner with senior management to identify gaps between goals and objectives, offering insights on trends and risks.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop associates while ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, planning, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.

  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead teams, mentor associates, and foster professional development.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial insights to senior leadership.

  • Expertise in developing financial models, forecasting, and preparing presentations for business case evaluations.
