Lead Academic & Professional Advisor

The Lead Academic and Professional Advisor plays an important role in the work of the College of Arts and Sciences and Maxwell advising team. This position will be a professional leader with expertise in advising undergraduate students who are either exploring major options or who have already declared a major. This role requires collaboration with the advising team, faculty, and departments to provide outstanding service to our students, supporting their academic and professional goals and timely completion of their degrees. This role carries a full advising caseload. Primary responsibilities include academic advising, career/professional, and post-graduation planning. In conjunction with best practices, the Lead Academic and Professional Advisor will design, develop, update, and deliver workshops for undergraduate students on topics related to major and/or minor selection, program requirements, career development, job search strategies, and graduate school planning. The Lead advisor acts in direct support of the Assistant Director to advance projects towards the strategic goal of the office.
