Vice President of Finance

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Veridian Homes is seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance to lead strategic financial and operational planning for the company. This is an opportunity to join a respected homebuilder known for innovation, sustainability, and smart growth practices while serving as a key member of the leadership team. This is an in-person position based in our Madison, WI office. The Vice President of Finance will lead financial planning, reporting, cash flow, capital allocation, budgeting, internal controls, and accounting operations while partnering with executive leadership to drive growth and profitability. This role will also lead the Finance team and collaborate with Forgewell Building Group companies on financial reporting and operational synergies. Why Join Veridian Homes? Key executive leadership role with impact across the organization Opportunity to lead and develop the Finance team Partner with leadership on strategic financial and operational decisions Influence long-term growth, profitability, and capital allocation Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting, technology, and processes What You'll Do Lead strategic financial and operational planning to support growth and profitability Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls Lead and develop the Finance team and ensure strong departmental performance Maintain long-term forecasting and financial models to guide strategic capital allocation Oversee business plan modeling with a focus on pricing, margins, returns, and financial risk Partner with the Chief Financial Officer on banking and lending relationships, credit facilities, and capital strategies Develop executive-level financial reporting and KPI dashboards to support data-driven decision-making Oversee job costing, annual audits, tax reporting, and other key accounting functions Support AI adoption and other process improvements that increase efficiency and support company growth Partner across Veridian Homes and Forgewell Building Group companies to improve financial reporting, operational insights, and strategic initiatives A successful candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field, along with a CPA or CMA designation. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, advanced knowledge of finance, accounting, internal controls, budgeting, cost accounting, cost control principles, and GAAP, and experience leading and implementing strategic planning over a three- to five-year period.
