Standard Job Description
Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases. Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command and control of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Provides failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance. Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies.
Lockheed Martin Space in Ft Belvoir, Virginia is seeking a full-time Early Career Satellite Mission Engineer to join our team. In this dynamic role you will support a 24/7, contributing to critical customer missions. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of on orbit spacecraft operations, and basic understanding of orbital mechanics. To be considered, you must be flexible and willing to work a rotating shift schedule. We will provide you with comprehensive training and certification through our program, building on your existing engineering skills to equip you for success in this position.
Please note that this role requires a security clearance. Candidates must be able to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance and complete a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI Poly) as a condition of employment.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a science and technology related program such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related disciplines, etc.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, including US Citizenship.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $65500.00 - $121700.00

Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
