Summary
You will serve as a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST of MARCORSYSCOM.
Duties
- You will formulate and apply security policies and procedures, assess the suitability of individuals for sensitive positions, and determine security eligibility for entry, retention, and access to protected resources.
- You will develop and implement personnel security policies, review requests for security clearances and special access, interview applicants, and ensure required investigations are requested and completed.
- You will provide authoritative guidance to organization officials on personnel security requirements, mission impacts, employee rights, adverse security determinations, and procedures for resolving personnel security concerns.
- You will administer programs for continuous security evaluation of personnel, develop guidance and procedures, represent the organization in personnel security matters, and support consistent security decisions.
- You will arrange and conduct hearings or appeals, advise employees on security procedures and rights, and administer security awareness programs that promote understanding of personnel security requirements.
- You will interview applicants about derogatory information, assess concerns developed during investigations, recommend appropriate actions, and help officials make fair and consistent personnel security decisions.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Expert knowledge of the Department of Defense and Department of the Navy security regulations and policies relating to the personnel security program and processing background investigations and verifying clearance eligibility requirements for the level of access to classified information. 2. Expert knowledge of JPAS (Joint Personnel Adjudication System) policies relating to the program in regards to the processing clearances, accesses and verifying visitors for need to know. 3. Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the management of the Foreign Visitor Badge program. 4. Expert knowledge of Department of the Navy personnel security program regulations as related to field command and installations. Ability to conduct compliance and assistance inspections of subordinate personnel security programs. 5. Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing. 6. Ability to plan and organize work.
