This job was posted by https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov : For more information, please see: https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov/jobs/13810830 The Surface Grinder Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating Okamoto surface grinders to produce high-precision components that meet strict customer specifications. This role performs precision surface grinding and, when qualified, OD/ID grinding using Studer grinders while maintaining exceptionally tight tolerances. The Surface Grinder Machinist reads and interprets engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions; completes machine setups; performs in-process inspections; and ensures all finished components meet company and customer quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
