CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO SOLON, OHIO!

Job Description

The Supply Chain Analyst plays a key role in optimizing inventory deployment, order fulfillment, and allocation across plants, distribution centers, and regions. This position owns short- and mid-term inventory decisions, leads mitigation strategies during constrained supply situations, and provides data-driven insights that align planning assumptions with operational constraints and business objectives. The role focuses on improving service levels, reducing cost and waste, and enhancing planning efficiency through robust reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, and master data stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute short- and mid-term inventory deployment decisions across plants, distribution centers, and regions to meet service, cost, and inventory targets.

  • Proactively identify supply risks using horizon-based analysis, taking into account inventory levels, inbound timing, quality release status, and capacity constraints.

  • Monitor system alerts, inventory imbalances, and service risks, and lead cross-functional efforts to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Drive resolution of inventory imbalances and service risks by making informed, timely decisions within defined guardrails.

  • Make trade-off decisions between service, cost, capacity, and waste while adhering to established policies and constraints.

  • Define and govern allocation strategies, prioritization rules, and inventory segmentation policies to support effective order fulfillment.

  • Own the final decision on mitigation strategies in alignment with Order-to-Cash and Commercial inputs during supply and service challenges.

  • Lead critical allocation decisions during constrained supply situations, balancing customer service requirements with broader business priorities.

  • Communicate allocation strategies, emerging service risks, and mitigation plans clearly and proactively to senior stakeholders.

  • Actively engage with key stakeholders in planning forums to support integrated decision-making.

  • Influence cross-functional decision-making by providing data-driven insights and clear recommendations.

  • Ensure alignment between planning assumptions, operational constraints, and overall business objectives.

  • Develop and deliver reporting on key performance indicators, including COF, waste, capacity utilization, supply payload, and redeployment cost.

  • Perform root cause analysis on service failures, inventory excesses or shortages, and network inefficiencies to identify corrective actions.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, service improvement, and working capital optimization.

  • Conduct scenario modeling and what-if analysis to support strategic and tactical supply chain decisions.

  • Own and maintain network planning master data in the planning system to support accurate planning and execution.

  • Ensure data integrity within planning systems to enable reliable analysis and decision-making.

  • Drive planning system and process improvements to enhance planning efficiency, visibility, and overall supply chain performance.

Essential Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable decisions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to build and interpret reports, models, and analyses.

  • Experience working with planning systems such as SAP or OMP in data-driven environments.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey insights, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights that drive business outcomes.

  • Comfort making timely decisions with imperfect data, prioritizing practical solutions over escalation or analysis paralysis.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

  • 25+ years of experience in supply chain, demand or supply planning, transportation, or customer service.

  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and turn insights into actions that improve performance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with broader supply chain design, planning, and logistics concepts.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI or similar business intelligence tools to support reporting and visualization.

  • Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools and advanced analytics to enhance planning and decision-making.

  • Background in inventory management and reporting within complex networks.

  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies focused on cost, service, and working capital.

  • Familiarity with master data management and system optimization in planning environments.

Work Environment

The position relies heavily on planning systems such as SAP or OMP, advanced use of Microsoft Excel, and potentially tools like Power BI and AI-enabled analytics platforms.
