Adecco is currently assisting a local client in recruiting for a Purchasing Specialist position in El Cajon, CA. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering a competitive annual salary of $70,000-$80,000. Apply today for immediate consideration!

Responsibilities

  • Review MRP/ERP demand, purchase requisitions, work orders, production schedules, inventory levels, and supplier lead times to establish purchasing priorities.

  • Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders while ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery requirements.

  • Obtain supplier quotations, evaluate pricing and lead times, and support cost-reduction and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Planning, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure timely material availability and resolve supply chain challenges.

  • Manage supplier returns, replacements, credits, and corrective actions related to nonconforming materials.

  • Monitor purchasing activity and supplier performance data to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.

  • Assist with audits, inventory initiatives, reporting, and other purchasing-related projects as assigned.

  • Maintain strong supplier relationships to support production schedules and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems, inventory management principles, production planning processes, and supplier performance management.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions, data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheets.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Purchasing or procurement experience within aerospace, defense, electronics, RF/microwave, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.

  • Experience sourcing and purchasing machined parts, electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), raw materials, outside processing services, or contract-manufactured assemblies.

  • Familiarity with AS9100, FAR/DFARS flow-down requirements, ITAR/EAR regulations, counterfeit-part prevention programs, and supplier quality standards.

  • Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, ISM CPSM, or other related supply chain credentials.

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
