Full job description

Citi Wealth Lending – Product Management

Citi Wealth is a leading provider of financial solutions for affluent, high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients around the world. Our Private Bankers, Financial Advisors and Lending Advisors act as trusted advisors to many of the world’s most successful and influential individuals and families.

We provide global insights informed by deep local knowledge and help deliver the complete financial management strategies that today’s wealth requires. Our comprehensive services are tailored to individuals and families, including entrepreneurs and business owners, single-and multi-family offices, senior corporate executives, next generation/inherited wealth, law firms and attorneys. From investment strategy, to banking, to lending and cash management we are here to support our clients comprehensively

Lending is a key offering within Citi Wealth. Lending provides competitive borrowing solutions that are strategically integrated into our client’s broader Wealth Management goals. Our team provides lending solutions across all three client segments including Citi Private Bank, Wealth at Work, Citi Private Client and Citigold as part of their wider Citi relationship.

We are seeking a forward-looking, AI-literate product leader to define and scale the next generation of lending experiences for wealth clients, advisors, and lending teams. This person will own product strategy and execution across lending solutions including structured lending and related credit servicing capabilities.

The successful candidate combines deep innovative product design with sound understanding of credit, collateral, risk, and regulated financial-services operations. They view AI not as a standalone feature, but as a practical capability for improving decision quality, reducing operational friction, enhancing banker, Lending Advisor and Underwriting productivity, and delivering more timely, personalized client experiences.

This role sits at the intersection of wealth management, lending, data, technology, risk, and client experience. It requires someone who can turn emerging technologies—including machine learning, generative AI, document intelligence, predictive analytics, and workflow automation—into scalable, compliant products with measurable business value.

Responsibilities Include

Product strategy and customer value

  • Lead the multi-year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital and AI-enabled wealth-lending capabilities.

  • Own product discovery: customer interviews, advisor research, journey mapping, service-blueprint design, competitive analysis, and quantitative analysis.

  • Identify client, lending advisor, underwriter, banker, operations, and risk pain points across the end-to-end lending journey: eligibility, discovery, application, collateral evaluation, underwriting, credit approval, documentation, booking, servicing, monitoring, renewals, and repayment.

  • Build differentiated experiences for users such as lending opportunity insights, intelligent application preparation, proactive collateral alerts, and self-service servicing tools.

  • Establish product metrics and operating cadences that connect experience improvements to commercial, operational, and risk outcomes.

AI-enabled product delivery

  • Identify and prioritize appropriate applications of AI in partnership with Technology - including machine learning, and automation across wealth lending—not simply where technology is novel, but where it is dependable, economically valuable, and safe.

  • Lead intelligent document intake and extraction for financial statements, trust documents, collateral records, income verification, and loan documentation.

  • Lead AI-assisted application preparation, exception handling, case routing, and lending-operations workflows.

  • Deliver predictive insights for collateral concentration, utilization, refinancing, renewal likelihood, risk escalation, and client outreach.

  • Write strong product requirements, user stories, workflows, acceptance criteria, and launch plans for both conventional and AI-powered capabilities.

  • Partner with Wealth Lending Technology, Wealth Intelligence, ML engineering, design, architecture, and platform teams to move from prototype to secure, resilient, production-grade products.

  • Understand enough of the AI lifecycle to make sound product decisions: data quality, model selection, retrieval and grounding, evaluation, prompt design, human review, monitoring, drift, feedback loops, incident handling, and rollback criteria.

Lending, risk, and controls

  • Ensure product designs respect the realities of wealth lending: breadth of borrower types, collateral volatility, concentration risk, advance rates, credit policy, documentation, and client communications.

  • Work closely with Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Model Risk, Privacy, and Operations to embed controls early rather than treating them as late-stage approvals.

  • Define guardrails for AI-enabled experiences, including approved data sources, access controls, auditability, explainability requirements, accuracy thresholds, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, escalation logic, customer disclosures, and fallback experiences.

  • Help ensure that automation improves—not obscures—accountability for lending decisions and client outcomes.

  • Partner with risk and control functions to establish monitoring standards for product performance, operational exceptions, model behavior, fairness, and customer-impact issues.

Cross-functional leadership

  • Lead cross-functional squads spanning business SMEs, product, technology, data, design, lending operations, risk, compliance, legal, and go-to-market partners.

  • Align senior stakeholders around a coherent roadmap, tradeoffs, success metrics, and delivery sequencing.

  • Communicate complex lending, data, and AI concepts in language appropriate for executives, frontline teams, technical teams, and control partners.

  • Drive adoption through advisor enablement, sales and service playbooks, training, internal communications, pilot programs, and feedback loops.

  • Establish a product operating model that supports experimentation while preserving the reliability, documentation, and governance expected in a regulated lending environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of product management, product ownership, digital transformation, or closely related experience, with meaningful ownership of complex customer-facing and/or operational products.

  • Deep experience in wealth management, private bank or wealth management lending or a similarly regulated financial-services environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of lending journeys and economics, including origination, underwriting, collateral, servicing, credit policy, documentation, portfolio monitoring, and client communications.

  • Demonstrated experience launching and scaling data-driven, automation, AI, or machine-learning-enabled products.

  • AI literacy sufficient to partner effectively with engineers and data scientists: familiarity with LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, predictive models, document AI, model evaluation, prompt design, privacy, and production monitoring.

  • Proven ability to make product tradeoffs across client experience, revenue, operational feasibility, risk, compliance, and technology constraints.

  • Excellent written communication, product storytelling, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.

  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional product-delivery environments.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent experience)

Preferred

  • Experience with lending platforms, loan origination systems, CRM platforms, workflow tools, portfolio analytics, credit decisioning systems, or document-management systems.

  • Experience shipping enterprise generative-AI products, advisor copilots, workflow agents, document intelligence, or client-facing conversational interfaces.

  • Familiarity with model-risk management, responsible-AI controls, financial-services privacy requirements, and regulatory expectations for automated decisioning or client communications.

  • Experience with experimentation design, product analytics, SQL, BI tools, or data-informed decision-making.

  • MBA, finance credential, technical degree, or equivalent domain depth.
