Overview and Responsibilities

This role leads Paramount Consumer Products' relationship with Amazon and the club channel. Amazon is North Americas most significant e-commerce and marketplace partner. The Vice President will create and implement a detailed strategy for the Paramount Products & Experiences business. This involves working with Amazon's Vendor Central, Seller Central, and the third-party marketplace ecosystem. As a key pillar in the overall market strategy, this role is integral to the success of the larger organization. Therefore, there is a premium on strategic thinking, direct and indirect team guidance, collaboration, and use of data to drive business growth with this key retail partner.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Customer strategy & business planning - lead the team and play an active role in creating the strategic framework for the multi-year and annual business plans for Amazon.

  • Leverage and help improve the Joint Business Planning process to improve customer relationships, and to achieve/exceed revenue goals.

  • Outline strategies and actions to grow revenue by supporting licensees in developing meaningful presence and experiences for Paramount's brands on Amazon, working across the buying, marketing, and retail media functions to maximize revenue opportunities.

  • Data curiosity - hands on and data driven approach to account team guidance, with curiosity serving as the central tenet.

  • Track performance to understand drivers and detractors, using this information to inform guidance, guide the team's direction and drive solid retailer dialogues.

  • Lead the account's digital shelf strategy. This involves managing detail page content, optimizing search and discovery, creating A+ content, and ensuring catalog health. You will collaborate with licensees and internal content teams to improve conversion and increase search visibility.

  • Promotional & retail media investment - this role manages funding for promotional and retail media. You will work with Amazon to find the best ways to use these funds. This includes Amazon Advertising, Amazon DSP, and other retail media placements. The focus will be on increasing sales and improving the return on ad spend.

  • Relationship management and elevation - develop and maintain close collaboration with the buying, planning, and marketing teams.

  • Specifically, the strategic partnership with senior management within Amazon is a key responsibility.

  • Licensee relationships - collaborate with the sales teams of major licensees to ensure a fully integrated collaboration with Amazon.

  • Team guidance - positively contribute to team dynamics within the different Senior Team guidance forums, area of responsibility, Retail organization in totality as well as cross functionally.

  • Lead your team and inspire them. Help your direct reports grow through long-term coaching. Contribute to the organization by collaborating with other teams. This includes teams focused on categories, marketing, and product development.

  • P&L responsibility - establishing and managing budgets and forecasts for Amazon, maintaining annual and quarterly revenue and expense detail.

  • Work within a matrixed team representing Amazon on cross-functional senior teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in retail development or key accounts including working with Amazon or a similar large e-commerce retailer. Ideally, you will have experience in the entertainment or licensing area.

  • Significant knowledge of the unique environment of warehouse clubs.

  • Bachelors degree; MBA preferred.

  • Extensive experience with Amazon's platforms such as Vendor Central and Seller Central.

  • Knowledge of retail media offerings and omni-channel partners.

  • Experienced people leader with a successful track record of working with executive team guidance, both external and internal.

  • Deep knowledge and proven success in creating and executing multi-million dollar integrated retail plans that include a broad range of vehicles including merchandising, POS materials, PR, promotions and events.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Additional Qualifications

  • World class interpersonal skills including meeting facilitation/presentation, and solid verbal and writing skills.

  • Important strengths needed to succeed on a sales team: participation in guidance forums, negotiation skills, strategic thinking, analytical skills, decision-making, communication skills, teamwork and integrity.

  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, fulfillment models, including FBA and digital merchandising.

  • Willingness to push boundaries, experiment, learn fast and execute.

  • Experience working in a global matrixed environment preferred, with solid cross-functional team guidance.

  • Solid planning, organizational and execution skills.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $203,200.00 - 254,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.This position is bonus eligible.
