Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Construction Observer to join our Fort Myers, Florida (FL) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide construction related services for civil engineering projects during design, bidding and construction phases

  • Design phase responsibilities include constructability reviews, design scheduling, contract time determination scheduling, franchise utility coordination, opinions of probable construction cost, specification and bid package development (including competitive sealed proposal method), and construction phasing

  • Bidding phase responsibilities include bid scheduling and coordination, advertising projects, coordinating and running pre-bid meetings, addendum coordination and distribution, bid tabulations, contractor reference checks, and recommendations of contract

  • Construction phase responsibilities include construction scheduling and contractor schedule review, progress meetings, submittal review, construction inspection and observation, pay application review, change orders, time impact analysis, project closeout, and project documentation.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years Construction Management experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients

  • Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic

  • Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines

  • Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment

  • Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals
