Sr Safety, Compliance & Risk Specialist

Job Description

A top employer in the healthcare, laboratory, and biomanufacturing industry is seeking a Senior Safety, Compliance & Risk Specialist to join their team. This individual will serve as the organization's subject matter expert for Biosafety, Chemical Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Business Continuity, and Emergency Preparedness programs. The role supports multiple laboratory, donor collection, and processing facilities while partnering cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, HR, and executive leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, state and federal requirements, and internal safety policies. This position has strong long-term growth potential, including the opportunity to lead a team of safety professionals in the future.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree

• Valid US Driver's License

• 5+ years of occupational safety in a healthcare facility, industrial hygiene, or environmental experience in a bio-manufacturing, high volume laboratory, pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, or a similar background.

• Experience working in environments that use and or process blood-borne pathogens, chemical hazards, and biohazards.

• Strong background in training employees, supervision and management in all areas of Environmental Health and Safety requirements.

• Experience leading emergency preparedness or disaster recovery exercises within a department or organization.

• Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership.

• Knowledge of environmental regulations (waste, chemical handling, bloodborne pathogens)

• Knowledge of emergency preparedness and disaster recovery processes

• Must be able to write procedures and reports. Microsoft Office applications

• Master's Degree

• OSHA, health and safety certifications

• CHS

• CHMM

• Biosafety, biologics, blood, tissues, similar specimens, chemical/waste hygiene
