Full job description

Come build something with Shepley Bulfinch as an Interior Designer!

Start your design career at Shepley Bulfinch, working alongside experienced architects and interior designers on complex, high-design projects. You'll contribute from day one while developing your design voice, technical skills, and confidence through mentorship and hands-on experience. You'll have the opportunity to participate in all phases of a project, including programming, conceptual design and development, space planning, and finish and furniture concepts. You can expect to partner with a more experienced designer to develop plans, elevations, RCPs and details, as well as finish concepts and furniture specifications. While this role is listed as being located in Boston, MA, we are considering candidates for hybrid roles at any of our five studio locations, as well as 100% remote candidates.

Who We Are

Shepley Bulfinch is a national architecture and design firm with offices in Boston, Hartford, Houston, Phoenix and Durham. Founded in 1874, the firm has a notable legacy of challenging convention, pioneering visionary design ideas, and collaborating with clients who seek to drive measurable change.

How do you know if this role is right for you?

You are creative, excited about design, and looking to engage collaboratively within integrated project teams. You are interested in higher education and healthcare spaces, and the design opportunities they bring. You showcase strong conceptual thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail. You bring strong communication and time-management skills, along with the confidence to explore and share new ideas, and are passionate about creating healthy environments that support occupant wellbeing. You are eager to learn from and collaborate with more experienced designers, and looking to become an integral part of the design team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture, preferably from a CIDA accredited program. LEED or WELL accreditation is a plus.

  • Previous internship or designer experience preferred.

  • Ability to use Revit in a professional environment preferred.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, rendering programs, and MS Office

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Shepley Bulfinch offers competitive benefits and compensation, including health and dental insurance, a 401(k) and profit-sharing plan, and flexible work schedules, as well as a range of professional growth and development opportunities.
