Responsibilities

As a DC Power Technician III , you will perform hands-on DC power and telecommunications infrastructure installations for Roecom. You will work from prints, installation specifications, and Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to complete your assigned work safely, accurately, and with minimal supervision.

This role requires demonstrated installation experience and the ability to explain the work you have personally performed.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret prints, equipment layouts, installation specifications, and MOPs to plan and complete assigned installation tasks.

  • Install DC power equipment, power bays, Battery Distribution Fuse Bays (BDFBs), relay racks, and associated infrastructure.

  • Assemble, anchor, and install equipment racks, overhead ironwork, ladder rack, and cable support systems.

  • Route, secure, label, and terminate power and grounding cables according to project specifications and customer standards.

  • Use appropriate hand and power tools, including crimpers, cable strippers, wrenches, and drills.

  • Review material requirements, inventory tools and supplies, and identify shortages or discrepancies before they delay the work.

  • Follow site access and security procedures, coordinate with site personnel, and maintain professional communication with customers and coworkers.

  • Complete assigned portions of the installation independently while coordinating with Roecom’s experienced field personnel.

  • Check completed work for installation quality, correct labeling, secure connections, and compliance with the MOP before sign-off.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and identifying alarms or installation issues within your assigned scope, coordinating with the team responsible for final turn-up.

  • Document completed work and update installation notes, material records, and as-built information as required.

  • Communicate progress, material shortages, site issues, and safety concerns promptly to the project lead.

  • Provide guidance to less experienced installers when assigned.

  • Follow applicable safety procedures and customer installation standards, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

About You

  • You make safety part of every task and follow site security procedures, customer standards, and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).

  • You have hands-on experience installing DC power equipment, BDFBs, power bays, equipment racks, ladder rack, and associated power and grounding cables.

  • You can read prints and installation specifications, plan your assigned work, and complete it with minimal supervision.

  • You can clearly explain installations you have personally performed, including cable routing, terminations, anchoring, and quality checks.

  • You take pride in accurate, reliable work and check your installation before sign-off.

  • You can identify installation issues, assist with troubleshooting, and communicate when additional technical support is needed.

  • You work well with site personnel and other installers, keeping the team informed about progress, material shortages, and issues affecting the job.

  • You can use basic computer applications to update job status, installation notes, and project records.

  • You manage your time, follow through on commitments, and adapt to changing project needs.

  • You have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

  • You are willing to travel and work overtime, weekends, or holidays as project needs require.
