Full job description

Your role at Dynatrace

We use data to uncover new business opportunities and inform the decisions behind our growth. As a Principal Data Analyst with a growth focus, you'll act as a trusted advisor to business partners across functions and own reporting and analytics from end to end. You'll use AI tools to accelerate analysis, automate reporting, and scale insights across the team.

  • Lead complex analytical projects across multiple product lines and business areas, from ad hoc requests to large cross-functional engagements.

  • Advise business partners on growth questions, translate their objectives into technical data requirements, and present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Explore data to find patterns, trends, and new business opportunities, and partner with business and product teams to test hypotheses that measure the impact of product changes and pricing strategies.

  • Build reports, dashboards, and visualizations that track key performance indicators and give business teams and executives actionable insights, using AI tools to automate reporting.

  • Gather data from databases, APIs, and external systems, then clean, validate, and model it, and work with engineering to shape our data architecture strategy and reporting methodologies.

  • Help shaping roadmaps with Data Analytics and allied teams that set clear direction and priorities for data collection, synthesis, and analysis.

What will help you succeed

Required

  • A track record of leading complex analytical projects across multiple business areas in high-tech or software organizations, from scoping the question to delivering recommendations that inform decisions.

  • Strong SQL skills, proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, and advanced expertise in statistical analysis.

  • Strong experience building data visualizations and dashboards in tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

  • Hands-on experience in data engineering and data modeling.

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis, automate reporting, and scale insights across a team.

  • Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor, presenting insights and compelling recommendations in writing and in person to diverse and senior audiences.

Preferred

  • Experience coaching or guiding other analysts in analytical methods and best practices.

  • Experience designing and evaluating experiments, such as product or pricing tests.

  • A history of improving how analytics work gets done, such as simplifying processes or raising the quality of reporting.

  • Comfort shifting between strategy, insights, and tactical operations as priorities change.

  • A degree in business administration, statistics, economics, or a related field.
