Full job description

Description

As a Supply Chain Manager within the Smart TDR (STDR) Program, you will own end-to-end supply chain planning and execution for Amazon's Smart Trailer Dock and Retrieval technology deployment across the NA fulfillment network. You will have a holistic view of material procurement, vendor operations, and installation logistics across NASC, DC, and CH networks — and be integral in driving large-scale initiatives in material cost optimization, vendor management, PO reconciliation, and installation capacity planning. With a deployment target spanning thousands of doors across multiple networks and fiscal years, there will rarely be a perfect solution — it will be up to you to make data-driven decisions and manage complex vendor and cross-functional stakeholder relationships while planning and executing within a rapidly evolving program.

The Supply Chain Manager will work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment — coordinating across hardware engineering, installation vendors, field operations, finance, and procurement teams — and communicate business conditions and program decisions effectively across multiple levels, from vendor field technicians to Amazon Directors and VPs. In this role, you will seek out supply chain gaps, dive deep into PO and invoice data, earn trust of partner teams, and deliver results that influence program-level financial outcomes. This role blends short-term execution (weekly install schedules, PO tracking, vendor invoicing) with long-term strategic planning (cost-per-door optimization, vendor negotiation strategy, surplus disposition), requiring quick decision-making with incomplete data while also thinking big about the network-wide deployment roadmap. The end goal is to answer the question: how do we deploy STDR technology across Amazon's network faster, at lower cost per door, with zero material waste, and without impacting site operations.

Key job responsibilities

Demonstrate strong customer focus and ownership of program-level supply chain outcomes

Own end-to-end material planning: demand forecasting against install targets, PO management, vendor coordination, and surplus reconciliation

Drive cross-network PO visibility and reconciliation across NASC, DC, CH, and Pilot programs — ensuring single source of truth for spend and utilization

Lead vendor negotiations (panel sub-vendors, contract manufacturers, GDO suppliers) to optimize cost, manage surplus, and maintain strategic relationships

Identify, prioritize, and implement processes to eliminate supply chain defects — including PO deduplication, invoicing gaps, and untracked cross-network procurement

Execute thorough root cause analysis on cost variances and deliver data-backed recommendations to senior leadership

Own programmatic execution at both detailed (weekly PO tracking, invoice validation) and strategic levels (cost-per-door targets, multi-year material strategy)

Successfully operate and influence in a cross-functional capacity across hardware, operations, finance, and procurement

Data mine by leveraging SQL/Python to drive key business decisions on material utilization, surplus disposition, and cost optimization

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of program or project management experience

5+ years of supply chain experience, preferably in hardware deployment, construction, or technology installation programs

Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
