Full job description

Position Summary:

The role of the Centralized Recovery Team Manager is to monitor and coach the Subrogation Recovery Specialists and the Total Loss Recovery Specialists in contract interpretation, investigation, negotiation, and maximum recovery of accident damage repairs, total losses, and related expenses for Consumer Rental and District owned assets from our contractually obligated customers or at fault third parties. Ensure maximum recoveries for financial expenses taken by the field associated to repairs and total losses. Evaluate standards of performance of staff relative to department/ company objectives. Develop and maintain procedures and processes and update as necessary. Guide the team, field, and corporate associates of all levels on repair and total loss events. Participate in cross-functional teams on projects large and small that improve Recovery Team, Corporate and Field processes and communications.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Directs, controls, monitors, manages, and provides technical and supervisory guidance to both the Subrogation Recovery and Total Loss Specialists regarding contractual and financial responsibility to improve processing times and maximize recoveries.

  • Establishes and revises SOP’s for subrogation, recoveries and total losses Consumer Rental and the Field. Contract interpretation that supports SOP’s.Works with cross departmental teams to improve upstream processes that impact claims handling which includes projects.

  • Interacts and guides corporate and field associates on escalated losses where additional contract, certificate of insurance, and customer relationship assistance is required.

  • Evaluates and measures Subrogation Recovery and Total Loss Specialist’s performance against goals.Prepares performance appraisals and recommended salary action in accordance with these measures.Participates in interview and hiring process and identifies training improvements for new employees assigned to unit.

  • Analyzes claims through random audits to ensure contractual obligation, settlement amount, negotiation and recoveries are being handled appropriately.Reports, analyzes, and communicates current activity and changes within scope of responsibility.

  • Manages third party relationships (Appraisal firms, Collection Companies and Collection Attorneys, etc.)

  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. If no degree, equivalent work experience is required.

  • 5 - 7 year’s management/ supervisory/ project management experience, claims management experience preferred.A college degree and/ or insurance-related courses/ designations preferred.

  • Knowledge of AS400, Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS), Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

  • Knowledge of SSO enabled applications (PRISM, Rental Net, Service Net, 24/7, Gensuite, Citrix, Summit, Claimslink, Fleet Net, Chrome River).

  • Knowledge of TPA systems including Risxfacs.

  • Support customers navigation of unfortunate business and life events.

  • Ability to work, make, and direct fact-based decisions on their own in a timely manner.

  • Ability to prioritize what requires immediate attention on the fly.

  • Ability to multitask is a necessity.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional manner.

  • Experience with liability claims management and subrogation / collections is required.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
