Pay: $ 21.16/hr.

Position Summary:

Reports to the assistant facility administrator. Responsible for coordinating library activities in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

Essential Functions:

  1. Plan and organize library program for detainees.

  2. Adhere to and enforce library policies and programs.

  3. Select, acquire and organize library materials for convenient access.

  4. Review requests, and select books and other library materials according to mental state, educational background, and special needs of detainees.

  5. Coordinate the work of detainees assigned to assist in the library and oversee the work of the

detainees using the library.

  1. Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.

  2. This position requires long period of standing and walking.

  3. It is expected the incumbent will work overtime when directed to do so.

  4. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and

intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.

  1. Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of library, clerical, administrative or related experience, and US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required. Must successfully complete required preservice training. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and maintain appropriate facility clearance.
