Full job description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented logistics specialist to support export operations for a contract position based in California. In this role, you will coordinate airfreight shipments from initial booking through final confirmation, ensuring each move aligns with customer expectations and regulatory standards. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and can manage documentation, communication, and shipment progress with accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate export bookings by reviewing shipment instructions, securing space with carriers, and arranging routing in line with operational practices and current pricing.

  • Track shipments throughout the export lifecycle and provide timely updates to customers, partners, and internal teams on status, handling needs, and delivery milestones.

  • Prepare, review, and validate export documentation to ensure all records are complete, accurate, and obtained promptly from customers when missing items are identified.

  • Work closely with carriers, origin stations, destination offices, and overseas partners to support smooth cargo movement and resolve service-related issues.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, service providers, and global offices to promote responsive communication and dependable service execution.

  • Follow established operating procedures and quality standards to support compliance across daily export activities and customer-specific requirements.

  • Escalate operational exceptions, shipment discrepancies, and emerging customer needs to management so appropriate service decisions can be made.

  • Handle specialized cargo or designated customer accounts when assigned, including shipments that require added care, coordination, or documentation oversight.

  • Support warehouse-related tasks in certain locations, which may include cargo handling, palletizing, inventory support, and the safe loading or unloading of freight. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or export coordination is required.

  • Working knowledge of airfreight shipping processes, logistics coordination, and related documentation practices.

  • Proficiency with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines with attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with shipping functions, distribution workflows, and customs-related coordination is preferred. TalentMatch®
