Full job description

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals per menus/recipes; operate and maintain kitchen equipment

  • Keep food safety and temps on point; oversee portioning and dietary needs

  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running on schedule

  • Follow sanitation/safety protocols and log food temps and portions

  • Communicate professionally with incarcerated individuals; other duties as assigned

Minimum Education Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience Required

  • Food service/culinary experience preferred (we'll train the right person)

  • Solid food safety/sanitation know-how, good organizational skills, team player

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods

  • Must pass a background check and follow facility security protocols

  • Flexible for evenings, weekends, and holidays; some noise exposure typical of a correctional kitchen
