Standard Job Description

Advanced Development Programs is seeking a Senior Aircraft Electrical System Engineer to lead the design, integration, and validation of complex electrical power generation and distribution systems. In this role, you will oversee the development of wiring architectures, system schematics, and components while ensuring strict compliance with aviation certification standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and mentor junior engineers to resolve technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in aerospace electrical systems, proficiency with specialized CAD tools, and strong technical leadership capabilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or other relevant engineering discipline

  • 8+ years of aircraft electrical system design experience

  • Proven experience executing aircraft electrical architectures from initial concept through production

  • Expertise in sizing, integrating, and testing starter-generators, alternators, or auxiliary power units

  • Proficient in performing comprehensive analysis to optimize system capacity under all conditions

  • Skilled in designing primary and secondary distribution networks, bus architectures, and circuit protection

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience using Siemens Capital for automated harness design

  • Direct working knowledge of MIL-HDBK-516 (or civilian equivalents) electrical system safety guidelines

  • Active security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
