Advanced Practice Provider – Inpatient Behavioral Health Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303

$52.48 - $78.72 an hour - Full-Time, Exempt (Salaried) | Weekday and Weekend Coverage

Boulder Community Health is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (PMHNP or PA) to join our Inpatient Behavioral Health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management for patients experiencing acute behavioral health needs in the inpatient setting. Working closely with psychiatrists, physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members, you will help facilitate patient stabilization, coordinate care, support safe discharges, and promote positive clinical outcomes for individuals across the lifespan. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while caring for patients with complex psychiatric and behavioral health conditions in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications •Current, unencumbered Colorado license as Nurse Practitioner (NP) with full prescriptive authority or Board-Certified Physician Assistant (PA). •Current, unencumbered DEA and State Controlled Substance registration. •Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry within 1 year of hire for both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. •Two years of experience as Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant preferred

Responsibilities •Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessments, perform physical examinations, and develop evidence-based diagnoses and treatment plans. •Order, interpret, and integrate laboratory, diagnostic, and clinical data to guide patient care and treatment decisions. •Provide medication management, therapeutic interventions, and ongoing evaluation of treatment effectiveness for patients with acute behavioral health needs. •Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and manage acute and chronic patient needs. •Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health promotion strategies. •Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation within the electronic medical record. •Respond to psychiatric, medical, and behavioral emergencies in accordance with established clinical protocols. •Participate in patient triage, clinical consultations, quality improvement activities, and peer/chart review processes. •Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards, regulatory requirements, patient confidentiality guidelines, infection prevention practices, and organizational policies. •Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and professional development activities to support clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
