Description
Finance & Accounting Specialist - Bilingual Japanese
We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Specialist - Bilingual Japanese to support day-to-day accounting operations for a hospitality-focused organization in Torrance, California. This role is ideal for someone who can manage financial records accurately, communicate effectively in Japanese and English, and contribute to efficient billing and payment processes. The position offers the opportunity to work across both payables and receivables while helping maintain organized, timely, and reliable accounting data.
Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and prepare payments in accordance with internal timelines and accounting procedures.

Maintain accounts receivable records by creating invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on open items as needed.

Enter financial information into accounting systems with a high degree of accuracy and ensure records remain current and complete.

Reconcile transactions and review account activity to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and support clean financial reporting.

Use QuickBooks and related tools to track daily accounting activity, organize records, and generate routine financial information.

Coordinate with internal teams and external contacts in both Japanese and English to address billing questions and payment matters.

Support invoice processing workflows by reviewing details, matching records, and helping improve efficiency in day-to-day accounting tasks.
Requirements
-
Associate degree in Accounting or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance support roles with hands-on exposure to AP, AR, and general accounting functions.

Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, account reconciliation, and related accounting activities.

Ability to prepare accurate financial records and support monthly and quarterly closing processes.

Proficiency in working independently while also providing support and guidance within a team environment.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.

Fluency in Japanese, including speaking, reading, and writing, is required.
