Full job description
This position supervises the food and nutrition unit with support from the YFE Investment Manager. Supervision includes 4 FTE Human Services Coordinators, 1 FTE Human Services Assistant Coordinator, 6 temporary summer employees. This position also supports a PT admin with the investment Manager. The supervisor supports three direct service federal food and nutrition programs including Childcare Nutrition Program, Summer Food and Centers. This position ensures the implementation and monitoring of federally regulated programs. This includes continuous education through trainings and working directly with OSPI concerning meal patterns and program rules. The supervisor, along with the manager, supports monthly billing for reimbursement as well as annual applications to OSPI for all three programs. The supervisor works closely with community partners, especially with the yearly coordination, set up, kick off and implementation of summer food.

Supervise a dynamic team of nutrition specialists including 4 FTE human services coordinators, 1 FTE assistant coordinator, including weekly 1:1 check ins and annual evaluations. Support Manager in supervision of 1 FTE Grants and Contracts Specialist and .5 FTE admin support.

Supervise three direct service federal childcare nutrition programs, including the Childcare Nutrition Program, Childcare Centers and the Summer Food Program.

Coordinate and facilitate annual and trimester CACFP trainings for the team and support community trainings.

Support Manager and Grants and Contracts Specialist to ensure OSPI reimbursement monthly for all three programs. Tracks and submits yearly applications to OSPI for all three programs.

Lead coordination with internal and external partners to ensure programs are meeting both the needs of the public and the requirements of federal regulation, including City of Seattle Parks and Recreation, The United Way, Seattle Public Schools and agency partners.

Lead set up and supervise the Summer Food Program including hiring and supervising 6 summer monitors/driver and the summer vehicle fleet.

Ensure programs are monitored regularly, meeting monitoring cadence requirements per each program and that services are being delivered per those requirements.

Attend community meetings, trainings and workgroups as required for the position including annual trainings for all three service programs, the annual Summer Food Service Program kick off (February) and the annual CACFP conference (March/April).

Create and implement process and system improvements as regulations change or are updated and ensure team has necessary tools and training to uphold process and system improvements.

Manages data, runs reports, submit applications in WINS and Kidcare for food programs.

Participate in weekly YFE leadership meetings. Meets with YFE Investment Manager weekly.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires three years of experience in human services or contract administration, service delivery, community organizing, including one year of supervisory or lead experience and a baccalaureate degree in a Social Science, Human Services, Business or Public Administration (or a combination of education, training and experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
OR: An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties
A current valid Washington State Driver License.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supervising USDA or OSPI food and nutrition programs
- Supervision experience in direct service, including facilitating trainings to staff and community
- Knowledge of childcare center food programs and/or operations
- Education or work experience in food and nutrition or food insecurity
- Strong attention to detail including data entry and written communication skills
- Experience writing, implementing and training on Standard Operating Procedures
- Knowledge of USDA regulation and/or meal pattern requirements
- Strong in Microsoft office programs including Sharepoint, KidCare and WINS

Total Compensation and Benefits The full salary range for this classification is $55.13 - $64.14 Hourly.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands This position will primarily be onsite at the Seattle Municipal Tower. Work is performed in an office environment; this individual may be on their feet for long periods of time working in multiple offices, areas, and floors of City Hall. This position may require the ability to lift objects weighing in excess of 30 pounds, as this position monitors office supply purchases, restocks supplies, and occasionally adjusts equipment and furniture.
