Summary

CHS, Inc. is hiring a Trading Analyst within our Agronomy/Crop Nutrients team. This role combines trading, risk management, and advanced data analytics capabilities to support commercial decision-making. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining data-driven supply/demand modeling , generating AI-enabled market insights, and enhancing proprietary analytical tools. The position will partner across commercial, logistics, and risk functions to evaluate market conditions, assess exposure and scenario impacts, identify potential market opportunities, and provide actionable analysis that improves planning, risk management, and decision-making.

This is an onsite position at our global corporate headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Responsibilities

Market Strategy & Analytics

  • Lead or contribute to global supply and demand modeling, scenario analysis, and market point-of-view development

  • Apply statistical, quantitative, and AI-driven techniques to improve forecasting and identify trade opportunities

  • Translate complex market data into actionable trading strategies

Technology & Model Development

  • Build and maintain analytical models, dashboards, and decision tools to support trading and risk management

  • Automate data pipelines and improve speed and quality of market insights

  • Partner with internal teams to integrate advanced analytics into commercial workflows

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of experience in in commodity trading, procurement, or related markets including demonstrated experience in market analysis, supply/demand fundamentals, or quantitative modeling

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Ag Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or related field

  • Experience with Excel-based modeling and data analysis

  • Programming experience (Python, R, SQL or similar) preferred

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)

  • Strong understanding of global commodity markets and logistics

  • Ability to translate data insights into commercial decisions

  • Experience with AI/ML applications in forecasting or trading analytics preferred

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
