Job Description
The firm wants a technologist who understands Finance. You'll be the link between Finance and IT for the firm's Contract-to-Cash portfolio. That covers the systems and workflows for pricing and client billing arrangements, billing, revenue management, A/R, collections and cash application. The job is part business relationship manager and part product owner. You'll own the roadmap, turn Finance's needs into solid solutions, and make sure new tools are connected to other systems and actually used.
This is a systems role, not a billing role. You need to understand how law firm billing and collections work. Your job is to improve the technology and processes behind them, not to produce bills.
Work between Finance and IT: Be the main contact for Contract-to-Cash systems. Turn business needs into process maps, requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and explain what technology options mean for the business. Own the roadmap: Work with Finance and IT leaders to set priorities, dependencies, timelines and measurable goals. Deliver projects end to end: Lead improvements from intake through design, setup, testing, launch and adoption, working with internal teams and vendors. Get changes adopted and connected: Support changes with training, documentation and self-service resources. Manage the effects on the General Ledger, reporting and related financial processes. Improve the process: Find and remove manual work and rework, shorten cycle times and strengthen controls. Track cycle time, exception rates and system usage to set priorities and show results. Manage vendors: Own day-to-day relationships with software vendors, including escalations, upcoming releases and reviews of new features. Introduce automation and AI: Test and roll out automation, AI and vendor features that improve efficiency, accuracy, compliance and the user experience. Keep systems running and compliant: Provide day-to-day support and make sure every change meets firm standards, internal controls, data governance and audit requirements.
