SUMMARY

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Additionally, the position holder recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs, research design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, production equipment and systems integration.

  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment using AutoCAD/Solidworks

  • Programming with Allen Bradley PLCs, Drives, HMIs

  • AMS and Siemens PLCs/HMIs would be a plus

  • Networking in IP and Modicon environments

  • Rexroth servos

  • Panel Design

  • Electrical distribution systems

  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results

  • Designs, implements and tests/sources and cost justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods

  • Strong troubleshooting and analyses skills

  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency

  • Represents manufacturing on cross functional teams

Qualifications:Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time spanManagement; the ability to organize and manage multiple prioritiesTechnical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including layout, assembly and production equipmentProduct development experienceQuality orientation and attention to detailProblem analysis and problem resolutionExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong team playerAbility to solve complex problems and a variety of changing needs under stressSolid decision making skillsLarge Project management involving both technical and contractor management skillsExtensive experience in either the rollforming industry or a related industryProduction Management Experience Ability to self-direct in a field environment given the goals of the projectAbility to run the department and make key decisions in the managers absence EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferredComputer assisted design proficiency Computer proficiency The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
