Description
We're partnering with a growing organization seeking a Senior Credit & Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys untangling complex account issues, improving customer payment performance, and influencing process improvements across the quote-to-cash cycle.
The immediate focus will be reducing aged receivables, resolving account discrepancies, and bringing delinquent accounts back into good standing. Once stabilized, this individual will play a key role in maintaining account health, improving collections strategies, and providing a stronger back-end perspective on the company's order-to-cash process.
What You'll Be Doing

Manage a portfolio of delinquent and high-risk customer accounts

Perform complex account reconciliations and research payment discrepancies

Investigate deduction issues, unapplied cash, short payments, chargebacks, and billing disputes

Work directly with customers to resolve outstanding balances and negotiate payment plans when needed

Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts to reduce past-due balances

Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Accounting to resolve account issues and improve collection outcomes

Analyze root causes of recurring AR issues and recommend process improvements

Maintain accurate customer credit files and monitor credit risk exposure

Support month-end activities related to AR and account reconciliations

Provide recommendations to improve quote-to-cash processes, billing accuracy, collections effectiveness, and overall cash flow

Help establish best practices to keep accounts current once delinquency has been resolved
Requirements
-
5+ years of Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, or Order-to-Cash experience
-
Strong background managing complex account reconciliations
-
Experience working with high-dollar or highly delinquent accounts
-
Ability to confidently communicate with customers and internal stakeholders
-
Proven success reducing aging receivables and improving collection performance
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Experience identifying process gaps and driving operational improvements

Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivots, and data analysis

ERP experience such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar systems
