Medicaid Accounts Receivable Manager
Position Overview The Medicaid Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing all billing and collections aspects of the Medicaid accounts receivable billing team. This role monitors performance and adherence to department policies and procedures, ensures timely billing, and maintains compliance with Medicaid regulations. The Manager will lead a team of accounts receivable billers, maintain account receivable reports, train and provide day-to-day direction to the team.
Essential Functions and Skills Responsibilities

Collaborates with the Director of Revenue Cycle Management to develop strategies to maximize efficiency and performance.

Ensures compliance with all AR department policies and procedures.

Provides leadership, support, training and guidance to the Medicaid A/R team.

Develop and implement processes to improve revenue collection and financial reporting.

Prepare monthly billing and account receivable reports.

Monitor AR aging reports, analyzing trends in collection effectiveness, billing errors, and denial patterns to identify areas for improvement.

Maintains complete and accurate billing and accounts receivable records.

Oversee month end close and year end closing processes for the Medicaid billing team.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve billing issues and streamline processes.

Assists with revenue collection by monitoring accounts receivables and performing billing functions as necessary.

Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations governing Medicare and Medicaid billing for hospice care, including timely submission and correction of claims.

Perform special projects as needed.

Responsible for maintaining compliance with all HIPAA regulations and requirements. Treats all patient information as confidential and utilizes protected health information on a minimum necessary basis.

Qualifications
Requirements/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field (preferred).
-
5+ years of dedicated Hospice billing, collections, and reporting (preferred).

5+ years of Accounts Receivable team management (preferred).

Strong knowledge of Medicaid hospice reimbursement rules, eligibility, and compliance standards (preferred)

Knowledge of Long Term Care Medicaid Room and Board reimbursement processes (preferred)

Ability to pass DHS background study
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations

Proficiency with EMR and billing systems (e.g., HCHB, NetSuite, or similar hospice/home health billing software)

Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

Proficient in the English language. Able to read, speak, and write English in a clear and concise manner required.

The annual salary range for this role is $95,000-$115,000/annually. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: geographic location, relevant education, applicable certifications, depth of experience, and special skillsets. The total compensation package for this position may also include the opportunity to participate in employee benefits including our medical/dental/vision/pet insurance, disability and life insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) retirement plans, subject to applicable plan terms, and/or eligibility for other compensation.
