Job Description

Stanford's Graduate School of Business (https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/) (GSB) has built a global reputation based on its immersive and innovative management programs. We provide students a transformative leadership experience, pushing the boundaries of knowledge with faculty research, and offering a portfolio of entrepreneurial and non-degree programs that deliver global impact. We invite you to be part of our mission of developing innovative, principled, and insightful leaders who change lives, change organizations, and change the world.

Success at the GSB is defined by The GSB Way - a commitment to shared purpose, community, and excellence in all that we do. We seek individuals who elevate themselves and those around them through the practice of academic candor, generous collaboration, and bringing curiosity and rigor to solving meaningful problems. At the GSB, impact means taking ownership, and contributing to a purpose-driven, collaborative, and high-performing community in service to the institution’s mission.

The Stanford Graduate School of Business Facilities and Hospitality Department is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Director of Student Residential Services to join our collaborative team supporting our 24/7 residential operations. This fully onsite, non-live-in leadership position is ideal for an experienced hospitality or residential services professional who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is dedicated to delivering an exceptional residential experience. Reporting to the Director of Hospitality Services, you will lead a team of three Residential Service Coordinators and oversee the day-to-day student residential experience across the GSB’s Schwab Residential Center and Jack McDonald Hall.

In this role, you will oversee residential operations from student onboarding and housing assignments through move-in, community communications, issue resolutions, and student move-out. You will analyze occupancy, rental, and resident experience data to inform operational decisions, identify opportunities for improvement, and support revenue and inventory goals. You will also develop and implement residential policies, processes, and training while partnering closely with GSB and University departments, including Stanford R&DE Housing, GSB Admissions, the MBA Program, Graduate Life Office, and Office of Accessible Education. As a key representative of GSB Hospitality Services, you will build strong relationships with students, colleagues, vendors, and campus partners to ensure a welcoming, safe, and well-managed residential community.

The regular work schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday. To support our around-the-clock residential operations, this position requires 24-hour response availability seven days per week for emergency situations. If you are an optimistic, organized, service-oriented leader with strong judgment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality and student services, we would love to hear from you.
