ABOUT THE TEAM Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built, and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. Our Warfighter Systems business line brings cutting-edge technology directly to operators on the front lines. Through wearable computing, augmented reality heads-up displays, tactical edge sensors, and seamlessly integrated software and hardware, we build systems that enhance situational awareness, soldier survivability, and combat effectiveness. From squad-level training environments to active battlefield operations, Warfighter Systems designs mission-critical tools that move at the speed of war—ensuring warfighters are more lethal, better connected, and more resilient. ABOUT THE JOB

As the Head of Programs & Directory for Warfighter Systems, you will own end-to-end contractual and operational execution for our most critical, high-visibility soldier system development programs (including Soldier-Borne Mission Command / heads-up tactical systems). You will serve as the single, authoritative point of contact for our Department of War (DoW) and U.S. Army customer leadership, establishing the trust and operational cadence required to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes. Internally, you will orchestrate a multi-disciplinary matrix across Hardware Engineering, Software, Cyber, Test & Evaluation, Advanced Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. Externally, your mission is to lead high-stakes prototype contracts with strict schedule, scope, and budget rigor—outperforming competing industry vendors to win full-rate production awards. This role demands a technical, high-tempo program executive who combines disciplined defense program governance with the urgency, agility, and bias for action of a high-growth technology company. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Single-Point Customer Leadership: Serve as the primary, authoritative program executive interfacing with Government leadership (Program Executive Offices, APMs, and operational end-users). Lead critical weekly and bi-weekly executive program syncs, risk reviews, and milestone reviews while proactively managing customer sentiment and expectation baselines
  • Contractual Execution & Down-Select Dominance: Lead large, complex, multi-million-dollar development programs from prototype execution through operational testing, with the strategic objective of winning down-select competitions across industry vendors to secure long-term production contracts
  • Scope & Change Control: Diplomatically and rigorously manage contract scope boundaries with Government stakeholders. Protect engineering bandwidth by preventing scope creep, evaluating schedule/cost impacts of change requests, and ensuring no technical commitments are made without formal concurrence
  • Rigorous Schedule Management: Own the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) across all workstreams (HW, SW, Firmware, Cyber, Manufacturing, Testing, and Logistics). Drive critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and maintain schedules aligned with rigorous defense standards (e.g., DCMA 14-point quality compliance)
  • Comprehensive Financial & Budgetary Governance: Partner closely with Finance and Operations to manage program P&L, CapEx, Headcount (FTE/Non-FTE), and IRAD allocations. Maintain monthly forecast-vs-actuals, track financial risks/opportunities, and ensure the program hits committed gross margin, revenue, and ACV targets
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Lead with high conviction across internal stakeholders—holding Product Management, TPMs, Hardware/Software Engineering leads, Test & Evaluation, Product Support, Safety, and Quality accountable to program milestones and delivery dates
  • Risk Management & Transparent Reporting: Build and execute an active program risk management matrix (mitigations, burn-downs, and contingency planning). Deliver high-clarity status dashboards and data-driven updates to Anduril C-suite and customer leadership

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive program management experience leading large, complex product development programs, with a proven track record in defense contracting or military hardware/software integration
  • Demonstrated experience serving as the primary customer POC / Program Director for major DoD / U.S. Army programs, directly managing Government APMs, PMOs, and end-user stakeholders
  • Proven experience managing complex schedules using Microsoft Project and executing against formal schedule health metrics (e.g., DCMA 14-point assessment criteria)
  • Strong financial acumen with direct experience managing program budgets, CapEx, resource allocations, and cost controls across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Exceptional technical literacy with the ability to bridge hardware, software, embedded sensors, and operational field testing
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently with a strong bias for action—capable of navigating ambiguity, driving rapid context-switching, and pushing back constructively to keep programs on track
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for customer engagements, field test events, and operational demonstrations
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Direct program management experience on soldier-worn systems, wearable electronics, tactical heads-up displays (HUD/IVAS), or dismounted edge communications platforms
  • Experience transitioning defense programs from Other Transaction Authority (OTA) / competitive prototyping phases into Program of Record (PoR) / Full-Rate Production
  • Active PMP certification or formal Earned Value Management (EVM) training
  • Active U.S. Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance
